Caring for Vulnerable Adults

The practice caters for the needs of vulnerable adults in the following ways:

  • We have a nominated GP who leads on our Safeguarding Adults strategy
  • Special consideration is given to patients with severe hearing problems so that a face-to-face appointment can be pre-booked as a telephone consultation is not appropriate
  • The practice maintains a Learning Disability register which is reviewed annually by our Safeguarding Adults lead GP
  • An Interview Room is available should patients wish to discuss their issues in private rather than at reception
  • The practice works closely with the translation services provider to ensure that vulnerable non-English speaking patients get the healthcare they require
  • Our flexible appointment system allows vulnerable adults to have longer appointments
